Day 58 Summary #365 – Feb 27, 2015

Down to the 18th and Vine area for today’s history lesson.

The Wheatley-Provident Hospital ruins are a signifigant reminder of a history of segregation in Kansas City. Built to fill the health needs of neglected community during the Jim Crow era, the hospital finally closed in 1972. There is a great write up at the Kansas City museum website. http://www.kansascitymuseum.org/CURATOR/curator_williams2.html
