Shot the back side of some decaying buildings down in the West Bottoms area of KC. A combination of factors drew my eye. The lines of the fire escape, the organic chaos of a tree framed with a white loading dock door, diagonal lines of the rail tracks, decaying brickwork and building details which speak of forgotten days. Days where cheaper and faster were not better. True craftsman added personal touches to their work and made each building unique. Not because it was easy, but because they were proud to display their skills.
