The Kansas City livestock exchange was completed on stockyard land in 1910. The days of Kansas City cow town cattle are gone, but the building is still in use as office space. It is located in the west bottoms area of Kansas City, Missouri. This area has been flooded by the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers numerous times, yet this monument of red brick still remains.
I dodged a bit of traffic to get my f32@2s exposure from the middle of west 16th street. I set my focus from the sidewalk and waited for a moment between departing cars. I leveled the camera in the street, fired and then fled back to he sidewalk. Will it turn out? Who knows! One of the tough calls of shooting film.
Here is the iPhone shot and map.
